Day of prayer and fasting for the Saeima elections
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
At the end of this work week— on Friday, September 25— we at the "Prayer Chapel for Latvia" invite every brother and sister from Latvia’s Christian denominations to join a fast and a prayer chain ( www.lugsanukapela.lv ) for the upcoming Saeima elections. Spiritually, we feel the need to join hands in prayer once again, and even more closely.
Let us fast and pray together that the Lord Christ grants our nation the grace to turn away from its sins and to realize that our land’s future, peace, and refuge lie in Him alone. Let us seek His grace regarding our government elections and their outcome. Let us give thanks for our land, sustained by God’s grace, and bless it and our government!
How will it happen?
We invite you on this day:
hold in-person prayer in congregations at 7:00 PM
to invite members of the congregation to go out on this day—quietly and without gathering in groups —on prayer walks to their local polling station (or another building associated with the work of the government) to pray there for the people of Latvia and the government.
We have created a simple, Scripture-based prayer aid for corporate or individual prayer.
May the Lord help us share this message about the opportunity to unite in prayer and fasting during this significant time.
