LEA Creed
We believe in
- the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct...
- One God , eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...
- Our Lord Jesus Christ , God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His Personal return in power and glory...
- The Salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit...
- The Holy Spirit , by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ...
- The Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ...
- The Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
Primary principles:
1. With joy we welcome brothers and sisters in Christ who have experienced the grace of the new birth that has brought them into an understanding of the fear of God and the desire to know and obey His Word.
2. We understand that we, as Christians, have the obligation to trust and encourage each other in the service of our Lord Jesus.
3. We respect diverse cultures, experiences and doctrines that God has bestowed upon His people and we acknowledge that different understandings in some areas not relating to salvation may remain until the end of the earth.
Methods:
1. We encourage all Christians to pray, as Jesus did, that we may be one in the power of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, encouraging love, peace and fellowship within the body of Christ, His Church.
2. We encourage all Christian to conscientiously stand up for Biblical truth, because only through obedience to the Truth, and a willingness to learn from one another, can we come closer to Christ and to each other.
3. When speaking or writing to a fellow Christian who may have differing opinions regarding certain religious beliefs, we invite everyone to refrain from personal accusations and expressions of anger, but in gentleness and understanding, expressing the truth in love, to be willing to admit to the possibility of our own error or incomplete knowledge.
4. We agree that before we criticize the opinion another Christian has expressed, we will first contact that individual, listen to their position, consider what we agree about, analyze how important it would be to correct what we believe are their errors and freely discuss any misunderstandings. We desire to do this politely, humbly and kindly.
5. We are excited about the dissemination of the Gospel throughout the earth and invite all Christians to participate. We refrain from unnecessary competition, but cooperating in every way possible, desiring the establishment of the kingdom of Christ, where peace, justice and holiness will reign. Let us do this honoring the one true God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
